Background Info -Human Papilomavirus(HPV) is the most common STI. -There are 40 different types of HPV in the world. It can affect the mouth and the throat, and most people with it don't know they have it.
Transmission -Transmitted through direct skin to skin contact. -Most often spread during sexual contact. -Some HPV cases cause warts, but most cases have no signs or symptoms.
Treatments -Over time the body will clear HPV infections on it's own.
Signs and Symptoms - People with HPV generally don't have symptoms or problems from it. - Sometimes this virus can cause warts in the throat. - Other types could cause cervical cancer.
