Epidermis: Keratrinocytes, and Melanocytes (pigment-producing cells)
Dermis Much thicker than epidermis and lies beneath it Gives strength to skin Serves as reservoir storage area for water and electrolytes Specialized sensory receptors, muscle fibers, hair follicles, sweat glands, and blood vessels
Muscular System
First-Class Levers: Fulcrum lies between the effort or pull, and resistance or load Example- head being raised or tipped backwards
Second-Class Levers: Load lies between fulcrum and joint at which pull is exerted Example- rising up on toes (tip-toe)
Third-Class Levers: Pull is exerted between fulcrum and resistance or load to be moved Example- Flexing forearm at elbow joint
