Math: The last few weeks we have allowed data collection to drive our instruction. We have gathered data whole group. Then we break into small groups to answer questions about this data on our individualized level. Each math menu is tailored to meet individual needs. Some of us are playing Tens Go Fish and Tens Pyramid in an effort to strengthen our fluency to 10. Some of us have begun to investigate growing patterns. We are also working on our Domino Project again! We had taken a brief break. But last Friday, Mr. Mc's class came in to work with us. Every group made progress...some were able to successfully mount the dominoes over the obstacle! We will continue that this week!

Reading: In reading this week we have continued with literacy menus. These stations include computer, partner reading, writing, and guided reading with Miss K. We have also started a writing project by putting words to pictures found in an Italian newspaper!
Social Science: We have started a collaborative project with Ms. Morgan's kindergarten class. We are researching the meaning behind all the popular holiday symbols that we see at this time of year. Each of Ms. Morgan's friends is paired with one (or two) of my friends. You can track our progress by checking the Holiday Wiki. Our, you can find a link to the wiki through our class wiki. Happy Holidays!
Thank you to Ms. Benjamin for sitting with the class during the faculty luncheon on Tuesday! I am in DIRE need of HP 02 ink cartridges. If anyone has an extras lying around, I promise to give them a good home! We dismiss next Friday at 12:45. Our class party is from 11:00-12:30. It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air. - W.T. Ellis
