Globalisation and NIC’s
The effects of globalisation have drastically effected the development of 3rd world countries. This has been in a both positive and negative way.
Specifically the TNC’s input in developing economies such as china, India and Brazil (all south of the Brandt line) has benefited the working population hugely by providing employment and opportunities for workers. A clear example of this is call centres such as GE, Dell and HSBC being moved from the UK, to developing countries like India. The impact of this transition has benefited India’s economy hugely however according to BBC sources 60% of the UK population believes this to have a negative impact on both the UK economy and the service that customers receive. However in years to come India could also suffer the same problem as with the development of the economy generally lead’s to better working conditions and increased wages and could cause these TNC’s to move on again.
