In Antigone, Divine Law is shown many times. For example, Antigone uses it as her excuse for burying her brother Polyneices. Creon still chooses not to listen to Divine Law even when Teiresias tells him to free Antigone and to bury Polyneices.
Devine Law
Antigone
Divine Law- a law that is believed to come directly from God.
"Ah Creon, Creon, Which of us can say what the gods hold wicked?" (Antigone pg. 710)
"The immortal unrecorded laws of God." (Antigone pg. 708)
"It was not God's proclamation. That final Justice That rules the world below makes no such laws." (Antigone pg. 708)
"Fortunate is the man who has never tasted God's vengeance!" (Chorus pg. 713)
