The battle of little big horn Also known as Custer's last stand In the late 1875, Sioux and cheyenne Indians left the reservation, full of anger. They gathered a huge army near the Little Bighorn River in eastern Montana, ready to fight for their lands. This battle was the most famous battle of the great Sioux war 1876-77. And it was a huge and important victory for the Lakota and northern Cheyenne, led by chief Sitting Bull. The U.S. Seventh Cavalry, with 700 hundred men led by George Armstrong Custer was defeated.
