Can be rectangular shaped, but it depends on the other meristematic cells surrounding it because they share cell walls.
Have thin cell walls made out of cellulose.

Meristematic Cells divide (differentiation). Function: They will come together to form Merstematic Tissue, which helps the plant grow. The cells can form an apical meristem, which allows the plant to grow in length. They are in the roots and shoots.

Have mitochondria for respiration and ATP.
