In ''Brave New World'' technology takes over and controls the universe. This part of the nation is called the World State. The motto of the World State is community, identity, and stability. In the World State there is a Central London Hatchery and Conditioning Centre. There is also a New Mexico Savage Reservation. The new modern science ways affect every part of the people’s lives. Babies are made from test tubes and cloned, people are conditioned, and family life is not the way to live! There are only five castes of people in ''Brave New World.'' There are Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons. Each has a place in society. There is a Director who is in charge of the Centre. He is very powerful and can be a threatening man. Although he has control he has secrets that may be revealed throughout the book, you will have to read to find out! Another main character is John, who grew up on the Savage Reservation, will he be able to fit in this new society, with his liking to Shakespeare? A major character who is important is Lenina Crowne, who lived in the World State. She has a big part in the book, her values are slightly different than others, but she makes you wonder what will happen next! Her love life plays a heavy role in Brave New World. The other characters keep the story interesting and catch your attention to make you want to read more! ''Brave New World'' is thrilling and entertaining. It uses psychology and a bit of true life that brings technology as well as the future together. It shows how the world could possibly realistically end up. The character’s lives are always changing! They all use a cure-all substance, called soma, which makes their lives nothing but interesting. Aldous Huxley is an amazing writer who shows how the technology in science shown in the book keeps you turning the page!
''Brave New World is as startling today as the day it was written because most of what Huxley postulated upon has happened to some degree or another.'' -Camden Alexander
''Brave New World still works after all these years because it is so sharp and unrelenting in its satire.'' -James Schellenberg
