My question for you is more about how you felt about the title of the book and what types of reactions you got from people when you told them what book you were reading? (For many the word Indian is not the politically correct term to use) My main question is did you tell the title like it is or descirbe it in other words? also ,How did people react to the title of the book when you told them what you were reading?
Many readers stated that they found themselves expaining the title to others when talking about the book they were reading. Many stated ther reasoning was that they felt uncomfotable saying Indian.
Many readers felt that Middle School sudents can not only relate to te story if they are facing cultural differences but that it would be a great story for students facing changes of environment Middle school students are very vunerable and if facing issues such as moving to a new school the book may help them not feel so alone.
