Essential Questions: 1. What are the different types of relationships between organisms in an ecosystem? 2. How do organisms depend on & compete for abiotic & biotic factors? 3. How do environmental changes affect organisms & traits in future generations? What’s Required??
Organisms in an ecosystem can be related in many ways. They can have a predator-prey relationship, or they can have soemthing called symbiosis. In symbiosis there are three types of relationsihps between organisms., mutualism, commensialism, and parasitism. Organisms depend on abiotic factors like air and sunlight for survival. They also depend on biotic factors as a source of food or energy. Environmental changes can cause a change in organisms because it makes organisms have to adapt to new circumstances and often an organism can die because of environmental change.
A lion is a tertiary consumer!
Plants are producers and they get their energy from the sun by a process called photosynthesis.
The arrows on a food web show the transfer of energy through organisms.
Environmental change can have a HUGE impact on organisms!
Predator hunts while prey gets eaten.
