The photo on the above left shows a beligain village in the congo.
Joesph Conrad's Heart of Darkness displays the impovershed and enslaved in the Congo. Conrad explains the pains and cruelty the British used to earn more money. European nations not only displayed natives as useless, but they also inflicted such a pain on them that they have only recently gained their independence.
The photo in the middle above is the ship Conrad used on the Congo. The above photo is a good example for what reasons the natives would be enslaved. The British overall considered them scum and nothing compared to themselves. The Elephant below gives a reason the europeans were in ''need'' of slaves in order to trade ivory to make money.
