Welcome to English III!
Ms. Kelly Scott Office: 407-286-2272 / Text: 321-217-2264 IM/Email: kscott@flvs.net
All About ME! The sickness has passed us all by, thank goodness, just in time to spend a super weekend outdoors enjoying the Florida spring (ie. no humidity)! Hope everyone had as relaxing a weekend as I did--no real plans of any sort other than enjoying the family, going on walks, shopping for a television (yes, ours is still broken and unreplaced, much to the chagrin of the husband, who is sorely missing his video games!), and even having a pleasant dinner at a restaurant--the kids were so well behaved! I even had time to read--or re-read, as I chose Uglies by Scott Westerfeld--an interesting commentary of social acceptance geared towards readers of other high school literature. The main character is just turning sixteen when the novel starts, and I highly recommend this intriguing book to any with spare time on their hands! :) Speaking of spare time, you'll notice that Spring Break may be here for some students or rapidly approaching for others. Keep in mind that FLVS does NOT take a break, so you should continue working in this class with your weekly submissions unless you have already contacted me and are ahead of pace! Otherwise, please use this time to catch up or even get ahead yourself! The school year is rapidly coming to a close--only 1 quarter left!?! If you are still working in the first semetser of this class with the plan to complete the rest of the course before the end of the school year, you NEED to get yourself moving NOW! Remember that we offer daily live sessions geared to move you through the class quickly and efficiently, but you need to take advantage of the help we provide. The work won't finish itself, so just telling me that you are going to work this week, doesn't get the work finished. And even with St. Patrick's Day here, the pot of gold only appears to those who work for it! Please let me know how I can HELP you FINISH
Best Times to Reach Me!!! Be sure to leave a message if you hear my voice mail—it probably means I’m on the phone with another student, and I will not know who to call back unless you leave a message! Week of March 14 Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday 8am-8pm 9am-8pm 8am-7pm 8am-8pm 8am-8pm
Super Star Students of the Week! Melanie R., Ruqueiya P., and Eryn P.
Attention Students! Notice that you have different Learning Strategies from which to choose when moving through the Course! The quizzes should help tell you which learning strategy is working best for you, so take advantage of this information and use the strategy that fits you best!
