Once upon a time, A very long time ago. There lived a young girl Who never let her feelings show She got through days Smiling and Laughing But behind the joking The girl was choking On the words She couldnt say She could not remember A time when things were different A time when she knew What to love meant People saw her happy face But no-one saw the tears No-one noticed her fears No-one saw her clear sadness and loneliness of being locked in her own place The chains wrapped around her making her strong To face the situations that made her for escape to long She knew it wasnt right But she couldn't face the fact Despite her forgiveness She was in fact The victim of a bully She couldn't see the light

Every time you hit her You grew in confidence You saw her shrink in fear You saw no desire for defence You put her down So she held her head low You made her feel so foolish She had nowhere to go You told her lies and pushed her to the ground You blamed her for your mistakes and made her think no-one was around You told her no-one cared for her She was just found one day You wanted to commit suicide And even tried one day You let her believe It was her fault The dream haunt her today As her feeling she put in a vault She needed more confidence But you wouldnt set her free She kept quiet because You said ''SORRY''

The years went by She'd lost her trust She tried so hard to be strong Because she knew she must The only way to be free Was to prove she wasnt afraid That was the only mistake she made The girl couldnt move on Each night was a reminder Of nights not so long ago Repeating history frightened her As she listend to the familiar screaming She knew unless she spoke She would choke She spoke in riddles To keep her past inside IT helped her talk But also helped her hide Things for which she blamed herself She was afraid of the future She needed a help, a cure She found someone Who truly listend She believed they cared But threatened Them to tell no-one Of her horrors Of her fears of tomorrow

Each nght her past Came to life As she listened to the Arguing and strife As she heard the bangs of falling fists She wished she could step in But she couldnt hold up her chin She couldnt help the sadness Running through her As she fought to Continue her Fight for life, independence and truth But in the end it was in the blood She could not win the flood Of hurt and pain But she could fight for her survival She wasn't born a survivor But thats what she had become She did not feel strong She felt numb But she knew it would be over soon And if she didnt try she would have lost She would prove you wrong And live again Not for you or the past But for herself once more Someone else made her feel secure So thankyou to you if you were there And thanks for listening to her cares She needed your interest To prove she could live again And she wasnt the nothing she believed...
