Lions
The lion's mane is one of the most distinctive characteristics of the lion. It is often used to intimidate and the fuller the mane, the more popular the lion.
The lion is the tallest of the felines and live in groups which are called prides. If a lion does not have a pride they are called a nomad.
A lioness can run at 40mph while hunting, but will only do so for a short amount of time. Usually when hunting a group of lionesses work together to take the prey down.
How does a lion greet the other animals in the field? Pleased to eat you!
Lion cubs are born blind and are very helpless the first few weeks of their lives. They have a very low survival weight due to the many challenges they face: starvation, predators, etc. All in all, as many as 80% of the cubs will die before the age of 2.
