Long and short term Effects The short term effects aren't as dangerous as the longer term but, the short term involve the water systems animals being affected in a very major way, even with a small dose and with this, the fragile ecosystem can be seriously damaged. The long term affects are the chemical leaking into the human drinking water. This can cause the estrogen in the water to affects human hormones and cause changed in both males and females. This can be very harmful to all human beings, meaning that the water would have to be cleared of this BPA before human consumption otherwise, the human race can be changed in many ways,
BPA and the Water System
BPA and Water Quality The BPA makes the water unsafe to drink. If the water has traces of BPA, then it is unsafe for human consumption. If this was the case then most of the water in the world would go to waste.
Human Impacts When human beings threw away all type 7 plastics, they mainly ended up in landfills. This caused the lanfills to overflow, and the water systems near the landfill was getting affected. The BPA from the bottles, and plastics, was leaking into the lakes and rivers, which affected the ecosystem and the fragile water system. This can eventually end up killing species, and harming humans. If the BPA was to leak into the human water supply then it can cause many dangerous affects.
Why should we care about BPA? Scientists and Health specialists have been concerned about type seven plastics since the early 1930's. In 2008 they issued a warning, stating that BPA is hazardous to human health due to the key fact that it contains natural compounds that alter human hormones. This can cause harmful changes in human bodies. This is why we need to find a way to stop it from leaking into human's water supply.
