DNA is located in the nulceus of your chromosomes. It directs the proteins in your body and sends them everywhere. This is how you are made and the reason you look like today!!!

Purpose of Lab
To see how to extract DNA from human and strawberry cells and to compare their similarities and differences
Extracting DNA from human cells- swish salt water in mouth for couple of minutes, then spit out water into test tubes. Second, add 2 teaspoons of soap to test tubes.,then let it sit for a few minutes. After, hold the tube on an angle and pour alcohol on side of the testube and hold for a couple of minutes. Then the DNA should form in the alcohol.
How to extract the DNA
Extracting DNA from strawberry cells- first, mash strawberry in an airless bag for few minutes,. Secondly, add salt and detergent to bag and mash for a minute. Then pour the liquid into the extration filtration apparatus into the testube. After 1/8 full, put ethanol along side of testube until half full. DNA then appears in ethanol.
Results of Lab
This is totally not mean!!!!
The DNA from the strawberry and human cells were both white, feathery, and liquidy. The difference was that there was less human DNA and more stringy. As the strawberry's was more of a blob and there was more quantity of the DNA.
