AS WELL AS being able to read book reviews by others, children can reflect on what they’ve read by writing an online review of the story ICDL OPENS UP the number of books to children that they may not otherwise have access to IF A STORY is started in school, children can finish it when they get home, or from any computer with internet access THROUGH THE USE of the ICDL’s simple book search, children can help discover what types of literature they enjoy MANY OF THE books are from different cultures and languages, which are perfect to incorporate multicultural and ELL students WHEN CONNECTED TO a projector, students can fully see pictures and words during a read aloud

Spelling City is a free, online site where students can practice their spelling through teaching, games, and practice tests. Teachers can create, save, and share their spelling lists with others, along with having access to hundreds of other pre-made lists.
SPELLING CITY CONTAINS over 27,000 words that include plurals, contractions, future and past tenses among others IN THE TEACHING section students can hear a real human voice read the word aloud, along with the word being used in a sentence IN THE GAMES section students can play a variety of games using the lists teachers create. In this section teachers can also print out worksheets and games for children to use without the computer IN THE TEST section students are read the word aloud, they have the option of hearing it in a sentence, and can then have their answers checked once they’ve completed the test. TEACHERS CAN PRINT out a report of how students did on the test, or a spelling certificate if the students get all the words correct
