Origin: Dorsets originated in the Down region of England.
History: -Dorsets are thought to be a cross of the spanish Merino sheep and the Horned Sheep of Whales. -Dorsets were brought to Oregon in 1860 for Mr. Richard Scott of Milwaukee, OR. -Polled Dorsets originated in North Carolina State College, Raleigh NC as a mutation of the purebred Horned Dorset flock at the college.
