Did you now that the waves are made by the moon and sun grative. The place with the highest waves are in Alaske and Maen. Some of the rivers and lakes contuny to the ocean and that is one way that there is stronger curents.

Ocean Energy
Generating technologies for deriving electrical power from the ocean include wave power, tidal power, ocean thermal energy conversion, ocean winds, ocean currents and saltinity gradients. Tidal power, wave power and ocean thermal energy conversion. are considered the three most well-developed technologies.
Tidal power includes large tidal differences which, in the U.S. happen only in Alaska and in Maine. Ocean Thermal energy conversion is limited to tropical regions like Hawaii and a part of the Atlantic Coast. Wave energy has a more public application, with potential along the California coast. The western coastline has the highest wave potential in the U.S.. California is the greatest potential along the northern coast.
California has more than 1,200 kilometers of coastline and the average combined anual deep water wave power flux is over 37,oo m.w. of which an upper limit of about 20% could be conveted into electricity. That is suffiient for only 23% of California's current electricity consumption. But , economics, land use, environmental impacts, and grid onterconnection constraints will usually impose farther limits to how much of the resource can be extracted.
