Chief Joseph
Chief Joseph was born inWallowa Valley, which is in norhtern Oregon, in 1840-he died in 1904. He was baptised at the Lapwia mission in Henry Spalding in 1838
His Native American name was Hin-mah-too-yah-lat-kekt, which means Thunder Rolling Down the Mountain Chief Joseph's father was the first christan convert in the Nez Perce tribe, when his father died he succeeded him and lead the Nez Perce
1863 Chief Joseph and his tribe were one of the few tribes that risisted the movement of the natives from there land. After they reluctantly accepted and started to move twenty rogue Nez Perce warriors staged an ambush on american soldiers and camps
When He learned that the army was after them they stated to move toward cannada instead of the reservation they were ment to move to.
October 5, 1877 is the official date that Chief Joseph surrendered to the American Military
He was never considered a war chief by his people
Even after the promise of being returned home him and his tribe were brought to a reservation where 2/3 of the tribe died of diseases only in1885 was he and his tribe allowed to go back to there territory and even then he and sellect others were kept from the tribe
Cief Joseph was a rebel in his own right because he faught against the unconstitutional and unethical treatment of his people. He and his people continued to rebel against the controle of the white people by holding onto there land for aslong as they could. Even after being forced to move they continued to rebel by heading toward canada instead of the rez.
Im taking away from this, an understanding of waht it is to show pride in ones herritage. I believe that we all can learn to stand up for our selves more and take pride in who and what we are.

it was fun to listen to the music but what about the video and the quotes. It had nice pics. But it was hard to read.
