Xavier Naidoo is a world renound german singer, and is very influential on the german music scene. He was born on October 2nd, 1971 and was raised in Mannheim, Germany. He is of South African and Indian ancestry. He is a religious christian, and sometimes incorporates religious undertones and messages his music. During Highschool, Xavier would participate in glee clubs, musicals, and his church's choir, starting his musical career in singing commercial jingles.
He goes back and forth between his solo career and die Soehne Mannheim. Infact, they are still on tour now. Xavier Naidoo has realeased 4 albums on his own; Nicht von Dieser Welt, Alles Gute vor Uns, Zwischenspiel/Alles fuer den Hern, Live, and Telegramm fuer X. In sings in german in every song on almost every cd, except for a few songs such as "That's The Way Love Is," "Don't Give Up," "I'll Be Waiting," and a few others in English. His biggest hits have been "Wo Willst Du Hin," "Bevor Du Gehst," and "Abschied Nehmen."
In 1993, he released his first album "Seeing Is Believing" but it was not very popular did not recieve any attention. Xavier had his first top 40 hit in a duet with Sabrina Setlur called "Freisein." Next, he released "Nicht von Dieser Welt" a few years later and his career started really rolling. During the year 2000, Xavier Naidoo got together with Die Soehne Mannheims and made a few big hits with their album Zion.
His first No. 1 hit was "Danke," which was written and sung for the German World Cup Squad. As it is easy to tell, Xavier Naidoo is still very popular, and has been for many, many years.
