STORY:
Once there was a student in search of knowledge. She walked the library, smelled its paper scent and drank in its information. She then found the World Wide Web and all it had to offer. With each web site, her hunger would continue to grow, and she became a teacher. by: Adam Dugger
Mini-Sagas (50 word short-stories): A group gathered around the man: wife, children, grandchildren, siser, nephew. Amid tearful goodbyes, he thanked them for being there, prayed with them and breathed his last. His passing came and went, but the blessing of his life remains forever in their hearts,; saying so long for now, never goodbye. by: Anne Brusca

Right Brain Rising--left brain functions no longer enough to survie and flourish

Storytelling
Our conversation on November 16th was anchored in the book A Whole New Mind by Daniel Pink. The participants in the discussion were all T.E.A.M. members. Two participants were in their first year, while the other two that lead the conversation were in their second. The discussion started by exploring ways and strategies to help our students develop right brain thinking. We spoke about having enough time to invest, and how age and developmental level both can have an affect. Older students can be more empowered and ready, but their time from class to class is limited more so than elementary students that might be with the same teacher for most of the day. How can we start out? Take small steps, and be creative. Blogs and wikis are excellent ways to move towards the new thinking and incorporating technologies and 21st century skills. Control it and maintain it. Teachers have to own the technology and new thinking approaches that they bring into their classrooms, and they should be passionate about them. It is up to us to create a love for learning that will help our students to succeed in the world of tomorrow.
