Events that led to his assasination.. Caesar's big problem was that he was becoming to powerful. Throughout his life he moved up in the ranks of politics. In 48, 46, 45, and 44 he had himself elected consul. In Rome he became dictator. His mission was to become king. His senators did not agree to his oligarchy so they decided to kill him.
