Consequences:
1. Verbal Warning/Reminder of the Rules I expect to have to repeat and clarify rules (Lindberg, 2005, p. 35). This is also a non-confrontational response. 2. Keep student after class This is to avoid confrontation in front of peers (Lindberg, 2005, p.8), and is an opportunity to ask if something is going on. 3. Detention after school This is for when the student isn't bad enough to be pulled from class, but has repeatedly needed corrective action. 4. Pulled out of class/Phone call home This is the time to involve a principal, which isn't a sign of my inability to handle the situation (Lindberg, 2005, p. 39). This is a good time to ask if parents want to get involved with the behavior in question and discuss if options like behavior reports are a good idea (Lindberg, 2005, p. 37). A student call also be immediately pulled out if they create a dangerous situation.
