Whole Class Rewards: Review games, Extra day for a project, and/or Free reading day! *Whole class rewards are incentives that get class involved in keeping classmates' behavior under control (Lindberg, 2005, p. 36). *These will be earned by keeping rule infractions down, as in no one got detention for these three weeks. Rewards will be decided by the class and me jointly.
Personal Reward Tickets: To be cashed in for various prizes! *Tickets can motivate students to follow expectations (Lindberg, 2005, p. 77). *These will be given for turning in all assignments for a week and for making an A on an assignment. They can save for prizes like candy, restroom/water break passes, or even to remove their lowest daily grade for a progress report.
REWARDS!!!
Showcasing Student Works *This is to reward those who put in extra time and effort in their assignments and/or extra credit work. It is designed to bolster their self-esteem about a job well done! *Posting will be done at my discretion, based upon criteria of effort/showing improvement. Posts will likely involve assignments where students do something creative.
Personal Notes on progress reports for parents to see *Again, this is for the purpose of boosting students' self-esteem. They have something positive to show their parents/guardians. It keeps them informed about the good being done (Lindberg, 2005, p. 55). *Any student who is doing consistently well or is showing improvement will get a note on their reports (which are to be signed). No negative notes will be included, either!
