paper cranes will give you a special wish . Sadako would wish to live through this disease after completing the legend . For she only folded 644 cranes before her death on October 25, 1955 .
Then came Chizuko Hamamoto- Sadako' s best friend- and she brought scissors and a golden sheet of paper. Chizuko showed Sadako how to fold a paper crane . She told her the legend about folding one thousand
Her name was Sadako Sasaki and she was a victim of the Atomic Bomb in Hiroshima, Japan on August 6 , 1945 . She was just two years old when it hit and ten years later, she was diagnosed with luekemia .
She developed bumps on her neck and behing her ears . Then purple spots formed on her legs and her arms . She was supposed to stay in the hospital for only two weeks , but her recovery wasn't anytime soon .

Love it also read it in grade 2 or 4 love the story and it's pretty hard making a perfect paper crane.
