This section of the book describes the life of the authour of this book and how Chris's life is like his. Jon is alot like Chris for he decides to try and live by himself in the Alaskan wild. Jon traveled up to the top of''Devels thumb'' and had to live with little amount of food and water. He was in very bad conditions and was forced to turn around. Then as he was going down the mountain he realized that as a child he never reached the goals set befor him, so he decided to turn around and make it to the very top of the mountain. He succeeded in doing so and he went home to find that nothing really changed in his life.
''Creep''-Radiohead
Dear Journal, I have recently decided to clim the devil's thumb in Alaska all by myself, this was probably a task that was to much for me to handel, but i pulled trough. It was very difficult and i was very low on food. I had to turn around at one point in the climb for it was impossible to go on. However as i scaled down the mountain i realized that i had to go on and make it to the top, i succeded in doing so and felt great about doing it. But when i got home nothing really changed and no one really cared. In a way i feel like climbing the mountain wasa huge waste of time.
