There is a VERY strong bound between the mother seals and there pups who recognize each other by sound and smell. Female seals give birth to one pup each year (THATS IT) she will nurse her pup for a few days before going to sea to feed, leaving the pup in a nursery group or a protected area where the mother think is best on the ice for three to five days at a time. When she returs. She calls the pup with a distinctive bark that the pup will answer. The mother will do this feeding and nersing for several weeks until the pup is old enough to swim and keep up with her. Then she will then bring the pup to sea to swim for the fist time to teach the pup to swim,feed,and avoid predators. But Sadly, THOUSANDS of the Mothers return from feeding to find that their pup has been slaughterd................ This can even happen right before the mothers eyes can you even amagian...... seeing a close family member or someone you love being beat and clubed right in front of you not being able to do anything but run. and hide then soon later comeing back to them skined and left there.

Each year HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of baby harp seals are Slaughterd on the ice feilds off Canadas east coast for there fur. Over 95%of the seals are killed during this hunt the saels are only just days old or even weeks old. If you were to witness this cruelity personally your heart would brake. Newborn seals skinned or bled alive........ clubed to death........ or shot at and left wounded alone to die under the ice. And Canadians Call this a "Sport"..............
