The blackness of the ocean Closes in around me The bitter cold of the water Seeps into my skin My mind goes blank From the cold and the shock How did I get here? Why am I here? Suddenly in my mind I see your face The face of a friend Of someone I love I must fight to freedom I have to survive the cold I need to get out of the water I’ve got to find a way home The thought of friends Gives me the strength I need To fight against the cold And survive this night alone For in the morning I know my rescue will come And life will be different In the light of the new sun
