The French and Indian War started because the French were trading furs with the Indians and the British were becoming jealous of the French. The British also wanted to own the Ohio Valley.The British started to build colonies around the east coast. Then the British tried to take the land away from the French. Next they broke out into a war. The British won the war by capturing Quebec. After they won the war, they took control of the French lands and forced the French north. As a result, the British owned the Ohio Valley.
