Stormbreaker
In the beginning, Alex Rider found out that his uncle, Ian Rider, died in a car accident. Now his only guardian is Jack Starbright, an american lady, despite her first name. But when he found his uncle's car in the car junkyard, he noticed that there were bullet holes buried in the car. Now he finds out that it wasn't a car accident, it was murder. I think Alex's mood here is devastated and angry, because Ian Rider did many activities with him, although he never had time to do what Alex wanted. He is now determined to find his uncle's murderer.
Part 1
Part 2
Alex then finds out who the people are that were in his funeral-Alan Blunt, Mrs. Jones, an John Crawley are all MI6 agents. MI6 are an intelligence agency located in Europe. Now MI6 wants Alex to cooperate with then to find out what Herod Sayle is really up to. Herod Sayle was known as a hero, until he builds his stormbreakers, which are machines/devices that can help kids in school. MI6 sense that Herod Sayle is hiding something, and a teenager would be perfect for the job. Although Alex is just a teenager, his uncle, Ian Rider who died a day ago has trained him and secretly wanted him to be a spy. I think Alex's mood is that he's trying to pick whether or not to cooperate with MI6 or go home and possibly let the world in danger. This is like the angel and the devil-The angel says to cooperate with MI6 and do the right thing, but in the contrary, the devil says to go home and relax. Forget MI6. Find out what Alex's choice is on the video on the right.
So Alex decides to join MI6, and MI6 decides to train him by sending him to S.A.S. boot camp. The S.A.S. sergeant put him in K-Unit, but K-Unit did not like Alex. They treated him like he was an ordinary schoolboy. But during training, K-Unit played life-risking tricks on Alex, such as when they had to use a thing to slide down a rope hung in the air, Wolf, the K-Unit leader, jammed the rope and let him dangle on the rope, hanging above the lake below. The mood Alex feels is that he feels depressed, tired, and feels goosebumps, because he had been played on, taken as a weak schoolboy, and is too much even for a 14 year old like Alex that has spy moves.
