Mosby's Rangers
Mosby's Rangers meeting areas were in private homes, and individual camps in Western Virginia. They only met when Mosby called them together. They mostly attacked union trains, supply depots, and used their guerilla style fighting to sneak up and suprise Union soldiers.
Mosby's Rangers was formed by Jeb Stuart in December 1862. They were the most feared and respected of all the guerilla organizationes. Some of John Mosby's and Mosby's Rangers key opponents were Brigadier General Edwin Stoughton, Sir Percy Windham, George Armstrong Custer, and General Philip Sheridan..
Mosby's Rangers mainly wore shell jackets, or sack coats, military style trousers, CSA or Federal Issued type calvary boots, and either gray, brown, black, or butternut colored hats. All they used for weapons were two muzzle loading Colt .44 revolvers for each man.
Mosby's Confederacy Mosby's Confederacy is an area in Virginia where Loundoun and Fauquier counties come together. Mosby's Rangers cotrolled the area so good that they named it after them, Mosby's Confederacy.
The original nine men of Mosby's Rangers were all colleagues from the first Virginia, but not recorded who or what they're name was other than Mosby's close friend, Fountain Beattie. The first nine men were only assigned to mosby for the first two weeks..
