My Trip Around the World
Starting: To start my journey, I picked 20 places I would like to go. So I am all packed up and headed out of Des Moines.
Stop 1: Buenos Aires , Argentina My first stop is Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am here because I want to see the Recoleta Cemetary, and tour the city! Facts: Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina. They speak Spanish. Their currency is the Pesso. The climate is mild. Most places in Buenos Aires also except Euros as money.
Stop 2: McMurdo Station, Antarctica When I landed in Antarcita, I steped off the boat and was run over by penguins! Then, after I got up, I went belly sliding! Facts: McMurdo Station is the only city in Antarcitca. There are lots of observation hills. There are lots of penguins there. There are auroras there. Its very cold.
Stop 3: Port Elizabeth When I arive in Port Elizabeth, I hop on a jeep to go our the jungle. Then we almost get attacked by a lion! Facts:
Stop 4: Cairo, Egypt While I'm in Cairo, I am just looking at all the pyramids, and suddenly I see a door leading into the tomb! So I go through numerous booby traps of all shapes and kinds to try to get my out of there until I finally reach the center of the pyramid: the mummy. As I slowly approach the tomb, I spot a golden cup. I reach out to touch it and the mummy jumps out of his tomb and chases me outside! So if you are even in a pyramid, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING! Facts: Cairo is often known as the 'Triumphant City' It is the heart of Egypt There are many Muslum temples. There are lots of pyramids . They have a big opera house.
Stop 5: Casablanca In Casablanca, I am looking at the Mosquee Hassan II. It is a monument. Facts: It was almost destroyed in an earthquake in 1775. It is the largest city in Morocco. It is considered the economic capital of Morocco. Casablanca means 'white house' in Spanish. It's the capital of the Greater Casablanca region.
Stop 6: Madrid, Spain So I'm in the Prado Museum of Art, and while I am looking at one of the paintings, it pulls me in! I travel from painting to painting, and I talk to each person/thing (including the still lives) in each painting. My least favorite was the Mona Lisa. She is very stuck up because she is famous and complains because she has no eyebrows!
Stop 7: Paris When I arrive in Paris, I go to the Eiffel Tower and start climbing it. But then, security guards start chasing me! It's lucky I hid in the Louvre, or I would have known what it looks like inside a French prison! Facts: Paris is the largest city in France. Paris is the capital of France. 20% of the French population lives in the Paris region. There are 20 arrondissements, or districts, in Paris. There are more than 350 kinds of cheeses make in France.
Stop 8: London England When I get to London, I want to go to Buckingham Palace. Not just look at it from the outside, I mean go inside! So I sneak in wearing one of those uniforms that the guards wear. But the queen knows I'm a fake, so she chases me out waving her cane at me and threatening to lock me in the dungens. (I think she's lost it.) Facts: London is the capital of England. It is the biggest city in Britan and Europe. About 12% of Britan's population live in London. London is the 8th biggest city in the world. They were the first city to have an underground railroad system called 'the Tube'.
Stop 9: Sydney Austrailia Now, in Sydney, I am going to the opera house to see an opera. But, I'm not very good at reading directions, because instead of going through the front door like everyone else, I take the door that leads directly onto the stage! So when the curtain opens, instead of an opera singer, there I am with my GPS in my hand, while it is saying 'Turn left at the stairs'. Next time LISTEN TO YOUR GPS! Facts: Sydney is the capital of Australia. It is the largest city in Australia. Australia is the only country that is also a continent. An average Australian eats about 165,000 eggs in their life time. Over 4.2 million people live in Sydney.
Stop 10: Los Angeles For my last stop, I went to Los Angeles. I went to Disney Land. But, when it closed, I was in the bathroom, so I was locked in! And that would really be fun, but it turns out they shut off al the rides at night! What a rip off! Facts: 24 million people come to Los Angeles for vacation. If Los Angeles was a state, it would be the 4th largest state in the U.S. It has more than 80 theaters and 300 museums! It's known as the 'City of Angels'. It's also known as Lala Land!
Home!!! After my journey, I arrive in Des Moines, Iowa. I have lots of stories to tell! Thanks for coming with me on my trip around the world!
