TS is either diagnosed at birth, at puberty - when there is an absence of development, or during pregnancy through amniocentesis With proper management, women with tuener syndrome can lie long, healthy lives. Although, like many other genetic diseases there is not cure for TS. Treatments revolve around treating symptoms of the disease and it is most important to help afflicted girls learn how to cope with this disease.
Turner Syndrome is a chromosomal disorder, only affecting females, where one of the two X chromosomes is absent or is defective. The error, a mutation, occurs early in development. Turner syndrome is reported to affect 1 out of 2000 live female births. But it is umportant to remember that 99% of conceptions with a missing X chromosome abort. Turner Syndrome can vary in severity because in most girls the mutation does not affect all of the body's cells - the fewer affected cells, the milder the disease will be.
Turner syndrome is genetic in that it involves the loss of an X-chromosome, but it does not pass down from one generation to another. The only way this abnormality could be passed down would be in cases where the X-chromosome is stable enough to be passed down and allows fertility. Although, women who have turner syndrome are most often not fertile. In this same case, if the women became pregnant but passed down her normal X chromosome to her child, the syndrome would not affect the child. Turner syndrome is most often considered a mutation which occurs during fetal development and is not inherited from either parent. Another situation where turner syndrome could be considered to be inherited would be if a parent's chromosomes were rearranged in a way that led to the absence of a second X chromosome.

1) possible and existing treatments -most women with TS reguire female hormone therapy to promote the developmnt of secondary sexual charactaristics. Estrogen can improve memory and motor coordinations associated with estrogen deficiancy as well. 2) Doctors usually suggest early screening and surgery for aortic coarctation becase it is so threatening 3) Plastic surgery to correct webbing of the neck is also considered for patients with TS 4) most TS patients can live normal lives and their lifespan depends mostly on conditions associated with the disease. Breakthroughs! 1) In 2001, Swedish researchers found that girls with TS still have folicles in their ovaries which could technically be capable of producing eggs. This offers how that Turner's syndrome patients will be able to have children in the future.

About Turner Syndrome
- short stature -webbed neck -broad chest -absent development of secondary sexual characteristics that normally appear at puberty -narrowing of aortic valve -infertility -absence of menstruation -the women are almost always infertile -ovaries are not capable of fertilization and embryo formation -inadequate levels of estrogen cause osteoperosis, increased likelyhood of bone fractures, memory deficiancy and poor motor skills -may have some learning disablilities in relation to visual-motor coordination and mathematics
