Alexander the Great: The End Of a Victorious Man
Historians still contemplate, to this day, what cause such an ordinary man as Alexander to die of such a sudden cause. Although we will probably never know the true cause of Alexander's death, there are a few theories. He died at the age of 33, on June 10, 323 BC (Alexander the Great Death).
A Mystery Forever?
As new theories are being created each day, we are coming closer to finding the reason for Alexander the Great's death. Even though we are coming closer to knowing, the truth will probably never be known. Alexander was the Macedonian king and a great conqueror, who died at the age of 33. The date of his death was the 7th of June, 323 BC (Alexander the Great Death). Once he got sick, the Macedonians knew that he would pass away soon enough. They were allowed to walk past their leader for the last time about 3 or 4 days before his death. He actually died without letting anyone know who his heir would be. This led to the age of the Diadochi and ultimately his empire died as well. (Alexander the Great Death).
Psuedo-Callisthenes wrote that there were a few people who conspired against Alexander. They made a plan to give him a poisoned drink, most likely wine, and have it strong enough to kill him. When he would try to throw up, one of the people conspiracy against him would hand him a poisoned feather (The Death of Alexander...). This would deliver the final blow to kill Alexander. This theory is only one of many, since a few are being made each day. But it is most likely that poison was indeed used in the killing of Alexander the Great (The Death of Alexander...).
