For homework: Sometimes when students' printers break down, don't know what the homework is or needs to save something but doesn't have a thumbdrive, they send it to themselves using the email system. They then can print out their work on the school printer and access their work even if they're not in front of their home computer. Teachers find this system quite handy as well because sometimes, they need to give examples of websites to their students for reference and they can just use it as a hyperlink.
What Students Use The Island School Email System For
For the Island School Office Newsletter: The office sometimes sends the school newsletter to students' emails. This way, both students and parents know what is going on in the school.
For Chatting: On the Gmail system, there is a chat box where invited contacts can chat with the account holder. Students can exchange thoughts and remind each other about homework or various other things besides using the chat system. It is also for leisure as well, because some students cannot go out with their friends in person and so can talk with them via the chat system.
For Forwarding Chain Mails: This is not always a good thing, as it can get really annoying and the person who created the email in the first place can obtain the students' email address and send inappropriate messages to them.but it is sometimes fun and enjoyable when people really want to share something funny or creative with his/her friends.
