Exponents!!! Take a prime factorization or any multiplucation problem and pick one number used in it. Then count how many times the number is used and make it smaller then the number multiplied and to the top right of it. The small number is called an exponent, and the larger number is called a base.
Anything to the power 0 is equal to the number 1 because it is like dividing that number by itself - its a little complicated.
anything to the 1st power is itself. anything to the 2nd power is squared anything to the 3rd power is cubed!!!! anything to the 0th power is equal to 1. if you are typing an exponent, instead of using big and little numbers, you use the ^ sign. It means to the power of, so if you put it between 3 and 5, it would look like this: 3^5 and it would mean 3 to the power of 5.
