ZZZZZzzzzzz the story of a sleeper
ONCE upon a time, there was a sleeper. When he was born, his mother said, "He sure looks sleepy," and named him Sloth. Obviously you can tell she was not the best mother. In the mother's defense, she did not have to do anything to take care of Sloth. He just slept. And Slept. And Slept. His mother worked at the local Walmart from 6:00 in the morning to 6:00 at night, so it worked out for each of them. Sloth's dad however, was concerned. "Why does Sloth always sleep?" He grumbled to himself every day when he walked through the door. He had been wishing for a son that would throw baseballs and play sports all day. He half got his wish. Every day, when the Dad woke him to go outside to throw a baseball with him, he was really into it, screaming, jumping, laughing. The thing was, Sloth soon fell asleep while playing. This happened so often, the Dad eventually gave up. A problem arose when it was time for Sloth to go to school. By now Sloth had gotten to be a hard sleeper, and nothing but a bulldozer could wake him up. When the Dad tried to wake him up, Sloth just slept on. Dad eventually just drove him to school asleep. The teacher, Mrs. Richmond, was very annoyed and bought a loud horn to wake him up during the day. She had to do it so often, she assigned horn duty to a different child every week so she didn't have to do it anymore. It got to the point where the horn didn't work. Mrs. Richmond ended up laying him in a bunch of pillows every day, while the children did a daily assignment on him called, "What is Sloth Dreaming About Today?" Summer Came. Let's just say Mrs. Richmond was glad to see Sloth go. Sloth didn't know summer had started. He was in a deep sleep started since May, and he hadn't woke up yet. His stomach growled awfully loud, but he was such a hard sleeper, he did not wake up. He slept on. and on. and on. Then, he had a nightmare. It was a scary nightmare. Sloth had never had one before. Sloth awoke, scared to death. He looked around. Where was he? He realized it was his room. It was dull and grey, no pictures or color. He walked out of his room and found a calendar. It was hard, because he barely knew his house. He was uncovering secret after secret, things he didn't know before. When he finally found the calendar, he gasped. Today was August 1, 2009. He had been alive for 6 years. And asleep for almost every second of it. He ran and woke his dad. "Hey, Dad! I want to play!!!" Dad woke up to an awfully awake freckled boy, with sandy hair and bright green eyes. He wondered where this boy came from. "DAD!!!!!!!!!!!" Then Dad realized, this boy was his SON. "I WANNA PLAY!!!" "Sloth, is that you?" "Is that my name?" "SLOTH! IT'S YOU!" "Can I change my name? I don't like it." "Sure." "How about... Seth." "I Like It" THE END P.S. Seth never fell asleep again.
