Solano Lopez was born July 24th, 1826 in an area near Asuncion, Paraguay. He died March 1st, 1870 in Cerro Cora, Paraguay. He was president of Paraguay from 1862 to March 1st, 1870. He was the eldest son of President Carlos Antonio Lopez. His religion was Roman Catholic. He was considered perhaps arrogant, and very possibly insane. Solano Lopez is accused of being responsible for the War of the Triple Alliance, which led to his death.
