John Adams He was a feteralist (belives in a strong national government). He was the 2nd president of the United States and represented the soldiers in the Boston Massacre when the British troops attacked the colonists.
Boston Tea Party On December 16, 1773, the American colonies protested against the British by dumping many crates of tea into the Boston Harbor. It was one of the acts that inspired the American Revolution.
Stamp Act The Parliament of Great Britain tried to force American colonies to pay tax on paper goods that had a British tax stamp. When the American colonies refudsed to pay becuase they felt they needed to stand up for their rights, the British sent soldiers to enforce the law.
Thomas Jefferson He was the main author of the Declaration of Independence which was written in 1776.. He belived that King George 111 had violated the rights of the colonists by taxing them without earlier agreement. These word had perhaps led to the colonists rebellion later.

Robert Howe (1732- 1786) Robert Howe was N.C's highest ranking officer during the Revolutionary War. His military carreer started in 1754. He served with George Washington, comanding troops defending the Connecticut border. Howe led 428 officers to reinforce the battle against Lord Dunmore. His main accomplishment was becoming the commander of the Southern Colonies.
Alamance Battle On May 16th, 1771, The Back Country Farmers (Regulators) didn't want to pay unfair taxes to the Tryon's milita (rich). The Regulators started a war against Troyon's milita. In the end even though Regulatiors outnumbered the rich, they were defeted.
The Battle of Moores Creek Bridge On Febuary 27, 1776 the first battle of the American Revouution in North Carolina was on the Moores Creek Bridge. The two sides, the Loyalists and the Patriots were both involved in this war. The patriots took of planks and greesed the bridge with animal fat to prevent the Loyalists from arriving at their destination, Wilmington,. This battle helped prevent the British from taking over the south.. This inspired North Carolina to pursue independance from the Brittish.
Hugh Waddel He was a lieutenant in North Carolina. He took charge of overseeing construction in 1755 to build a new fort called Fort Dobbs which is where he then commanded. He led hi troop through many battles that took place in N.C,
