Lorenzo De Medici is greatly known for being a patron of the arts, but he also had an intrest in literature from a young age. When he was around 15 years old, he began writing poetry in Vernacular (everyday) Italian. As an adult he purchased expensive pieces of Greek and Latin literature and had them copied into Italian.
His father: Cosimo, Piero De Medici Brother: Giulani was murderd in mass in the catheral. Lorenzo escaped with minor wounds. this was known as the Pazzi Conspiracy.

He was well known for hiring artists to create works of art specially for him. He employed many artists including Sandro Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, Filippino Lippi, andrea Verrocchio, and Michelangelo all of which went on to be some of the most famous and influencial artists in history.
