More now than ever teenagers are abusing prescription drugs. Many people do not know that prescription drugs are just as dangerous as street drugs when taken by someone they are not precribed for. Our, taking the wrong amount of a prescritption drug.
The most popular prescription drugs being abused today can be put into 3 different groups; opiods, Central Nervous System Depressants (CNS depressants), and stimulants. Opiods are painkillers like Vicodin. CNS depressants that slow down your brain, like Xanax. Stimulants increase brain activity, like Ritalin. Abusing these drugs like taking them when they are not prescribed to you, or taking too much of one whether it is prescribed or not, can lead to health issues. Like hearing and sight issues.
