Into the Wild
Well, the book definitely grew on me... Even though it took a while!
I have to admit, just the thought of reading the book *Into the Wild* got me in a bad mood. But since I had to do it I figured I'd just jump right in it. And boy was I in for a surprise! The book, or should I say Chris McCandless, grew on me. I can't say that the book really took me for a joy ride, but Chris did.. In a strange way I related to him. I understand why he left without telling anybody and I admire his attempt to live the life he really wanted, in maybe needed. The book tells an interesting and compelling story about this young man that I seems like no one really knew. There are probably a thousand different opinions about Chris's choice to leave, and we will never get the truth as to why he embarked on this fatal adventure. So in many ways, we all have to make up our own minds about what kind of person Chris McCandless was. But no matter what you might think of him, brave or stupid, the story is fascinating in so many ways!
