Vision Impairment
INPUT DEVICES For the vision impaired the biggest problem is not input but output. Mainly for input there are braille keyboards availabe that can help the blind if they do not know how the average keyboard is designed, with the braille they know exactly what they are imputting
OUTPUT DEVICES Braille displays: these translate everything on the screen from 'normal' text into braille making it possible to read for the blind. Electronic reading aids: this program scans the text on the monitor and then reads it out in a synthetic voice so the blind can hear what others usually read off the screen Screen Magnification: this doesn't help the blind but instead those with limited sight, as it enlarges the chosen part of the monitor. Video Magnifiers: this records an image and then enlarges it on a separate screen to let the user see the printout or whatever it is they want to enlarge
