Maori Dance
There are to main different types of Maori dances. The dance are the Haka and the Poi dances. The haka is usually performed only by men and was used to scare the enemy as the haka is a war dance. Today the haka is used in celebrations and is performed before the the All Blacks rugby team start the rugby game.

The poi dance was a dance used by the women and the men to make there rists have morae coordination. The poi dance was a dance used by the women and the men to make there rists had more coordination. For the women it was so there hands were flexble for weaving. To the men it was good having the coordination for war. A female Maori dancer is callede a Wahine. A poi is made from a weaved peace of flax and today the weight at the end is made out of plastic bags.
A haka is very fierce. A haka can consist of toung being pulled out; arms being pulled out and the other hand touching the arms repeative times; stomping on the ground slaping of the theise and the use of sticks. The vocal part of the dance is shouting.
The action of th poi in the dance is spinning around. The poi will spine in front of the dancer and can be spined above the dances head the vocal part of the song is graceful singing.
