Meaning that they have both a President elect and an appointed Prime Minister. - Haiti won its independance from France in 1804. - The population of Haiti is roughly 10 million. - The capital is Port-au-Prince. - The motto is "strength in Unity"
Schools In Haiti - 90% of the schools in Haiti are non-public schools. - There are about 15,200 primary schools. - 67% of primary school aged children are enrolled, 30% of 6th grade aged students are enrolled and only 20% of secondary aged students are enrolled. - The literacy rate is the lowest in the region with estimates ranging from 50% to 65%. - The system is based primarily on the French school system.
