How Did Greece Actually Fall?
the roman empire mostly fell because of the wars between greece and rome. The Second Punic War, which ended by treaty in 201 B.C., transformed Rome from an Italian confederacy into a permanent, expansionary war machine. In 200 B.C., this was not evident. Indeed, many people were talking about the need for peace. Yet war went on because of so much fighting and the peace that was not had in the greek empire it also lead to problems inside city walls. Religion was a big part of the downfall also. Most people stopped caring about religion and put it on the back burner and became more influenced by philosophy,literature, art, math, and architecure. They didnt let religion rule there everyday life making them more concerned on how they lived to better themselves for there future.
The fall of rome came in many different ways. One of the most importamt ways the roman empire fell was of the belief of humanism. Humanism was the belief that man was greater than god. that the five sences known to man were the most important. They believed that human kind were the most important and that the gods playied less of a role in everyday life than they thought. Around 200 B.C. the germans(germanic tribes)also known as barbarians ivaded the roman city when the government was weakend because of the civil wars within the roman empire. This caused sickness and disease throughout the roman empire. Because of this invation the roman people were left with nothing making them lose most philosophy and any type of literature and art that they had. Most of the architecture was taken down just so people could biuld homes for themselves. After the barbarians left the roman people were left for dead. People had to convert from a powerful empire to a hopeless village making them take more of an interest in religion and making them leave everything they believed in behind.
