question and answer's about the genocide in namibia 1.What was the impetus for the genocide(e.g. desire for the political power,religious persecution,etc.) ?What group were involved, both as victim and aggressors)? The victims were the heroro and namaq people.The aggressor's were german troops. 2.What was the Duration of the Genocide? The duration of the war lasted from 1904-1907 ; The Genocide lasted lasted 3 years in Namibia. 3.What was the death toll of the Genocide? The death toll between the years of 1904-1907 in total, between 24,000 and 65,000 Herero (all values are estimated as being 50% to 70% of the total Herero population), and 10,000 Nama (50% of the total Nama population) perished. 4.Were there particular events during the genocide in which a greater number of people died ? No, there're no particular events during the genocide in which a greater number of people. 5.Were people simpily killed, or were they tortured as well? Both,because it says women were used as sex slave's. German's said any Heroro or Nomaq people trying to escape they would shoot and kill them and another two characteristics of the genocide were death by starvation and the poisoning of wells used by the Herero and Nama populations that were trapped in the Namib Desert.also if i'm they even put some in concentration camps and let them starv. 6. How did aggressor's feel toward their role in the genocide in Namibia (did they see themselves as just following order’s or morally justified)? The aggressor's felt they marally justified . 7.How were the live of the survivor's affected? 8.How did the international community respond to the genocide?
