The Creation of Adam
Painted in 1511 - A Fresco Painting
A Brain? The pink backdrop appeared to be an anatomically accurate picture of the brain. There are two theories regarding this. 1) The brain shows God's plan of creation that was not yet revealed to man and man must learn about it himself. 2) That Gods is a figure that is only in our heads. Basically that man made God up and he is not real.
Michelangelo depicted God as an elderly man wrapped in a swirling cloak when Adam, is on the lower left completely naked.
A Uterus? Alternatively, it has been observed that the pink backdrop around God has the shape of a human uterus and that the scarf hanging out, colored green, is a newly cut umbilical cord.
Hidden Messages about the Pink Backdrop
Gods right arm is extended to impart the spark or life from his own finger to Adam. This is a reminder that man was created by God. Their fingers are not touching, this gives the appearance that God is giving and Adam is receiving.
Hmmmm...........
Did you know, when MIchelangelo was working on a project, he wouldn't take his boots off or change his clothes for months?
