The Last Judgement
The Last Judgement is a Freso Painting
His inspiration and the moment caught in this painting was the decision of the Last Judgement from Matthew 25: 31-46. It is located on the back wall of the Sistine Chapel.
There was a big dispute between Michelangelo and Cardinal Carafa over how this was the most important church and it was a disgrace that the people were naked.
The powerful figure of Christ really stands out. The picture also shows the sinners being descended down to Hell.
Apparantly, he wouldn't take it any more seriously than he would a bunch of old wives tales.
Made between 1536-1541
